I started BluesNerd.com as a vehicle for my non-academic writing on music, history, cultural tourism, discussions of authenticity, race, class, and gender in modern blues and blues-influenced music, record collecting and archival work, road tripping, and live music. I am a PhD student at UVa, vice president of MACSEM, and a touring/recording musician, when scheduling permits. I was a 2015-16 Praxis digital humanities fellow, an intern at Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in 2013 and an Ada Comstock scholar at Smith College from 2011-2013.
